KYTSA is offering a unique opportunity for its members, advisors, alumni, and guests to participate in an impactful storytelling initiative. This project invites individuals to be interviewed and/or share their stories about how cancer has touched their lives—whether that be through their own personal journey, the experience of supporting a loved one, or witnessing its effects in their community.
These shared stories aim to foster awareness, empathy, and connection amongst our KYTSA family while highlighting the impact cancer has on us all and how important KYTSA’s service project, raising money for the American Cancer Society, is to KYTSA as a whole.
Participants will have the chance to share their stories and answer some questions to show all of KYTSA how cancer affects the people close to and around them. Your voice matters, and your story can inspire others, provide comfort to those facing similar struggles, and raise awareness about the profound impact of cancer. Join us in creating a platform for reflection, education, and hope.
Those that would like to participate need to fill out the google form linked below. Participants can choose whether they would like to answer the given questions in a video format or typed out in the google form. We ask that written responses to the 3 questions stay under 150 words total and that the overall “Tell your story” response stay under 300 words. If you choose to submit a video, your responses to the questions and your “Tell your story” story should be in the same video, the video should be no longer than 3 minutes long. If you film a video, there is no need to type your responses as well. Please follow the google form for more instructions and to answer the questions.
The 3 Questions Include:
Who do you know that has been affected by cancer?
What got you through the battle?
How can donating to the American Cancer Society make a difference?
Freewrite Prompt:
